Caesars Entertainment already has a foothold in the state, thanks to its partnership with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. North Carolina’s new sports betting laws allow for up to a dozen new online sportsbooks. Roy Cooper officially signed HB 347 into law on June 14. In June this year, NC senators voted largely in favor of regulated online sports betting.
North Carolina has enjoyed legalized sports betting since 2020 via retail sportsbooks at Harrah’s and Catawba properties. Could North Carolina become a state with top online casinos and start offering table games and slots? Much depends on what happens with the state’s new online sportsbook laws.
